Christmas Eve Services for Sunday, December 24th 10AM and 5PM

A Merry Christmas to All! The Cherryfield Congregational Church will be having two service on Christmas Eve. Our morning Christmas service will be held at 10AM on Sunday morning. Rev. Larry Zimmerman will be leading this service. We will be having Coffee and Muffins before the service beginning at 9AM.

This is a way to get us all together for some fellowship in the morning and give us time after church to get ready for Christmas. We will post a bulletin if we receive one. Rev. Z was still without power as of Saturday morning.

Our Christmas Eve Candlelight service will be at 5PM and led by our Church Deacons. We hope to see you at one or both services. Amy Mathews will be streaming both services on our Church Facebook page. Have a Great Christmas and may you be able to spend in with family and friends. Or celebrate the birth of Jesus in your own way! Merry Christmas and have a great week! :)!

This week we will be celebrating the Third Sunday of Advent as we light the Third Advent Candle of joy. Rev. Z’s message is titled, “There’s A Voice in the Wilderness.” Our scripture readings this week come from Isaiah 61:1-4, 10-11.

The Cherryfield Band will be performing at our church this afternoon at 2PM. All are welcome to come and enjoy this concert.

Have and live your faith in this week leading up to Christmas. Keep up the joy as we get close to the end of our Advent journey. The birth of Jesus will be celebrated soon. for those of you having a “blue Christmas”, celebrate what you can and keep it low key. Have a great week! :)!

We also are having an “Ugly Sweater Sunday” this week so please wear an ugly sweater, sweatshirt, or t-shirt to help have a little fun during Advent as we remember the coming birth of Jesus.

Welcome to the first Sunday of December and of Advent. The weather has been mild this past week and we haven’t gotten any major snow accumulations yet. Don’t say the snow part too loud! ;)!

This week we will be celebrating the first Sunday of Advent as we light the first Advent candle of Hope. We will have our annual “Hanging of the Greens” service where we decorate our sanctuary for the Christmas season.

As we decorate our sanctuary for the service, we will discuss the meaning of our Christmas traditions and sing some related Christmas hymns. Communion will also be served this being the first Sunday of December.

Enjoy the week ahead! Live and enjoy your faith. Show it to others in small and sometimes great deeds. Hoping the Christmas spirit begins to show up in you and your family in some small way. If Christmas is hard for you then find joy in the small things.

Online Worship for Sunday, October 29, 2023

Welcome to the fifth and last Sunday in October. We have had great temperatures the past week. It has felt almost like summer the past few days. Halloween is this Tuesday.

All are welcome to attend our service this Sunday at 10AM. This service will be a treat and hopefully there are no tricks. Rev. Larry Zimmerman will be away. Deacons Alice and Peter Duston will be leading our service. Rev. Z left a message that will be read titled, “The Challenge of Being Happy.” Our scripture reading will be from I Thessalonians 5:14-18.

Malen Hsu will be playing our music. Amy Mathews will be streaming our service live on our church Facebook page. Thanks Amy for being loyal about this. Join us for some “treats” and socializing in our Coffee Fellowship after the service.

Prayers for a good week ahead. Hoping you enjoy Halloween and get a few Trick or Treaters. Prayers for the tragedy in our state this week in Lewiston. Live your faith and do something positive for our world this week.

We are looking for donations of White Elephant items and basked goods for our church bazaar on November 18th. Remember also that clocks fall back on Saturday, November 4th. So Sunday, November 5th will the beginning of Standard Time.
