Welcome to the second Sunday of September. It seems like our August summer heat and humidity have hit after Labor Day and the start of school this year. We are losing about 21 minutes of daylight per week over the past few weeks so fall is here. The leaves are starting to turn in spots.
All are welcome to join us this Sunday, September 10th for our 10AM service. Rev. Larry Zimmerman is leading our service. Please come to church, read through our service in the online version below, or watch our service on our church Facebook page. A big thanks to Amy Mathews for being so faithful in streaming our services each week! :)!
This week’s message is titled,“Love Like You Mean It”. Our scripture readings comes from I Corinthians 13:1-8a. Loren Harmon will be our Liturgist. I believe Malen Hsu will be doing our music.
Next Saturday will be our “Cars and Chords” aka “Family Fun Day” event at our church from Noon to 5 PM. There will be a Car Show in our newly paved parking lot, a Bake Sale and Chance Auction in our church basement, children’s activities sponsored by the Lamb House, and food will be sold by our scouts. If you would like to donate something for our auction, please contact Amy Mathews, Katie Parker, or “the always helpful and willing to work at any church event,” Alice Duston! ;)! Also contact them if you are willing and able to donate something to the Bake Sale. There will be an “Auction Preview” on Friday, September 15th from 6PM to 8PM where tickets and be purchased and you can get in early ticket bids for items.
Wayne Steele will be running our car show. Contact him if you have a vehicle to enter. There will be a prize for “Best of Show.”
Extra prayer request this week. Pray Hurricane Lee doesn’t make and appearance and dampen our church plans for next weekend! Have a great week! Keep the faith and do some good in the world! :)!
